Vintage still reigns supreme

I haven't been as obsessed with dressing Isla in vintage as I used to but these short, cute vintage Polly's sure came in handy when I potty trained her. My vintage obsession has been on the back burner lately, I've been so distracted by my little ones. I am, however, so very excited for this amazing show now back for it's 3rd season, I've watched from the beginning and seriously hang onto every scene with jealousy.

Through the viewfinder

This is a photoshop technique called TTV, so much fun. I downloaded a bunch of the templates here. I thought it would be difficult, I mean it looks like it would be difficult but it was simple to do. I used the tutorial here.

The lake

The lake is my favorite. Yes, it's dirty and sandy but I love it anyway. I have done a lot of swimming with the kids this summer and it's been the most fun I've had in a long time. Bonding at it's best. I've always felt a spiritual connection to water. I feel at peace when I'm swimming. So there's no better place to hang out with the kids, for me anyway.

Birthday Girl

I'm getting excited for Isla's birthday party. Here is a look at some of what she's going to wear, I still haven't decided on a top yet. I'll probably go with a plain white tee with poofy sleeves and embellish it somehow, maybe with a flower? She's obsessed with the color pink and she loves ponies so I'm having fun planning this pink pony party for her. I can't wait.

I bought the tiaras at Bake It Pretty, along with some other fun stuff for the party. The shoes are from Gymboree , they are called pink frosting and she loves them and the skirt from Crazy 8. Yes, I put a lot of thought into her outfit. I also got this great idea here for balloons. The same unicorn balloon is at Party City.

She loves her scrapbooks

Both of the kids LOVE looking at their scrapbooks. When I create a page (usually at night while they sleep), I show them first thing in the morning and their little faces beam. I haven't had much time lately to scrapbook and I'm getting that anxious feeling because of it. Since both kids are going to school this year, I'll have a few extra hours to be able to spending doing what I love.

Sylvan Beach

Anyone that knows me, knows that I'm a planner and don't like to break my routine with the kids so when Steve asked me the other night after dinner if I wanted to go to Sylvan Beach, I surprised myself by saying yes. I love it here, I know it's not a popular place by some but I love it's (OK I'll spare you by saying vintage) oldness (better?).
Justin on Carello's Carousel. Love the clown on the bench.
This carousel dates back to 1896, which I love. Steve took this and it's a little too flashy for me, makes me shiny.
Something about these colors, reminds me of the movie Amelie.

This was right before we left, it was getting darker and all the rides had been ridden and the snacks had been bought. It was a nice break from my routine.
I played around with the color levels on this one, trying to make it look a little older.
