All Around the Parks

Taken at Islands of Adventure. I love this Fruit sign, the colors pop. I was able to get a clear shot of it because the park was dead when we first arrived.
This is at Hollywood Studios and the place we ate lunch, Sci-Fi restaurant.
Everything in Animal Kingdom was designed to look old and rustic. I took this picture with scrapbooking in mind.
Dinoland in Animal Kingdom. This is the roof to the restaurant we ate at. Disney really pays attention to detail and adds humor to it.
I wish I had an unobstructive view of Minnie's Cottage. Isn't it cute?
This was in a gift shop at Magic Kingdom that looked like a giant tree. This is the view as you look up, I'll bet a lot of people don't even notice it because I almost missed it.
This was the back of a trailer selling ice cream at Universal Studios. I loved the old travel stickers. Someone should bring these back and sell them.

Easy Collage

I don't have much time for any major crafting lately. Years ago I did the above collage for Justin's room. They were all pictures from ages 18 months - 2 1/2 years. It was such a sweet and memorable time for me and I wanted to capture his adorable toddler stage and for him to see those pictures and remember the happy memories.
It occurred to me recently that Isla needed the same collage. I picked a lot of my favorite pictures of her, which are, I'm sure, happy memories for her too. The top middle picture of J & Isla on the airplane ride just makes me melt (the first time they ever rode a ride together) and the one of her at her 2nd birthday party with the heart crown on is my all time favorite of her. I bought Isla's frame at Walmart for $12. I bought a posterboard for the backing and just eyeballed the pictures into straight rows and all done. Super easy.

Busy Boy!

Justin is definitely a busy boy lately. He's currently in soccer and t-ball. He loves playing sports. I've never had to drag him to go and I even tried to talk him out of soccer this year but he wanted to keep going. The funny thing about watching Justin play is a lot of the kids take it too seriously and don't look happy to be there, then you have Justin, laughing and smiling the whole time. He loves being part of a team.

Day 7 - Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom was our last day and the heat was brutal! It's the least shaded park and I'm not a fan of the heat.
Isla in Dinoland, we were waiting for Steve, Justin & Ashlee to finish riding Expedition Everest (rollercoaster).

These were taken at separate times, I normally would have taken it together. We did a lot of splitting up in the parks because Isla couldn't go on everything.

We were on the Kilimanjaro Safari. We saw a lot of animals, it was really fun. The ride is so bumpy that it's hard to get a shot that isn't blurry.
Ashlee on the Pangani Exploration Trail.

Taking a rest at Camp Minnie-Mickey. Here there were a ton of characters and no wait line to see them.

Me and Isla in front of The Tree of Life. Inside they show a 3D movie. We called it a day after this picture was taken, the heat was bad (there is something wrong with my body regulating temperature, Steve kept saying it wasn't hot when I was about to pass out)! We usually went swimming before dinner. Sometimes we would go to Downtown Disney for dinner. I love Downtown, it's so much fun there.
So that was our trip. We all had a lot of fun, there weren't any major problems, the kids were so good, even in restaurants. I don't think I had to scold them once in a restaurant. The plane ride went well, we had a direct flight to avoid major flight delays and lost luggage and cranky children. We used a service called Tour Guide Mike to help us avoid long lines and best plan your day. This site was priceless, in my opinion. There were so many tips on there and people to answer questions on the forums. Planning the trip was half the fun. I'm sad it's all over.

Day 6 - Disney Hollywood Studios

Upon entering Hollywood Studios, Ashlee was asked if she wanted to try out for the American Idol Experience. It's set up just like the real show and you vote for your favorite. She tried out and got chosen to be one of three to sing in front of a live audience!
I'm not making excuses for her but she really wasn't 100% better, her voice was still raspy. But she was chosen anyway and it was so crazy to see her on stage. She really got into it and had great stage presence. She didn't win but she had a great experience and aren't the pictures amazing? We have a ton more that are still on our Photopass, I'll post them when we get them.

Justin posing with the army man outside of Toy Story Mania, it's a fairly new ride so it was our first time on it and it was really fun.
Waiting to be seated at the Sci-Fi Diner. I LOVE this place.
You eat in a car while you watch old Sci-Fi movies on the drive-in movie screen.
It's dark in there and Justin kept scaring Ashlee.
Here's a better look from my seat (the backseat) on how dark it is.
The kids loved it here too. They loved watching old Tom & Jerry and other cartoons.

Watching the parade at the end of the day.
After the park we went swimming (that's what we usually did) and then went to the Pirates Cove for mini-golf. Our next and last day is Animal Kingdom!

Day 5 - Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom was by far, the best day we spent. So much fun for everyone and we rode so many rides.
Ashlee & Isla on Dumbo. You aren't guaranteed a short line to ride Dumbo unless you're there at rope drop and make it your first ride. This was my first time riding too.
Justin on Dumbo. After Dumbo we went on Peter Pan and Snow White.
This is where we all split up. Steve, Justin & Ashlee went on Teacups, Indy Speedway, Buzz and then Space Mountain while me and Isla rode Cinderella's Caroussel, Winnie the Pooh and IT's a Small World (below).
We had a whole boat to ourselves, she LOVED this ride and still talks about it today.
Then we head to Minnie Mouse's Country cottage, we had to go in twice she loved it so much.
I loved this hanging in Minnie's cottage.
Justin with Mickey ice cream ears. Steve buys these every chance he gets.
Aww, Pirates, I love this ride, so did the kids, they were never scared by it. We did a ton more but no pictures to show for it. Steve, Ashlee & Justin rode Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain (Justin declared this his favorite ride and I went on with him later in the day) while me and Isla went on Aladdin. We all rode Pirates, The Haunted Mansion, Buzz then Steve and Justin rode Space Mountain (again) and Barnstormer. During that time, me Ashlee and Isla stood in line to see the Princesses. A lot of the pictures the professionals took are still on Photopass so when we get them, I'll post them.

Balloons to end the perfect day.

This was taken later in the evening while we were at Downtown Disney. We were waiting for our Ghirardelli sundaes and I had to get a picture of the guys in front of the beautiful sunset, much prettier in person... Next day is Hollywood Studios!!

Day 4 - Universal Studios

Universal isn't my favorite park so there are hardly any pictures from there. There's not much for the kids to do either.
Here they are in Bikini Bottom, we spent a lot of time in this store waiting around for Steve & Ashlee to ride rollercoasters and for Spongebob to come out.
This was part of Curious George goes to town.
They LOVED the Ball Factory.
You gather balls and send them up the tube.
And wait for the balls that you gathered to drop.
and scream with excitement when they fall.
Ashlee still sick. Isla took this picture while Steve & Justin were on ET.
At Curious George jungle gym. She kept dancing silly when she would get to that platform, I think Justin took this picture.
Yay Spongebob! Our next park is Magic Kingdom which was the best day ever!
