Morning Scrapbooking

I've been scrapbooking like crazy lately. My secret? The kids have been going to sleep later due to the longer days, I'm too tired to scrap at night anyway so it's not a big deal. So due to the later nights, they have been sleeping later. I sometimes wake at 5:30-6am due to restless brain and go downstairs, make my morning iced coffee and get some quick scrapping in. It's been WONDERFUL. Sometimes I get 30 minutes, sometimes over an hour. Since I do simple pages, it's easy to whip one up. These represent my two favorites from each of their books that I just did. Enjoy!

* I said in another post how it's rare I don't journal on a page so these two are not a good example of that. Sometimes I see a picture and have a page in mind where a lot of journaling isn't necessary.

Ed Emberley

I'm loving this book. I ordered it and waited to have one of the kids by themselves (it's 100% easier one on one) and Isla won. She LOVED it. I really wasn't sure how she'd do, if she was interested at all. The picture below is my work....
and this is Isla's work:

I had to help her if the thumb or fingerprint needed to be large (her fingers are so tiny still) and she asked me to help her a lot. The caterpillar and the dog is all her work, the rest were done by both of us. She was having so much fun that I was actually surprised. I think she enjoyed using the huge stamp pad (it's the one they suggest on amazon.com). When Justin came home from school she was so excited to share with him. He seemed interested and did a few but not as interested as Isla. I hope this wasn't a waste of money then (because i bought it with him in mind).

Photoshopping

I would mess around with Photoshop all day long if I could. I have fun with the TTV masks and color enhancing and contrasts. The possibilities are endless. So much fun. I really love the picture of Justin on the carousel with the background blurred, I took a bunch of them but the lighting had to be just right. I'm going to try this more when I get a chance.

J & I

I take hundreds of pictures of the kids almost everyday. 90% of them are blurry or just plain boring or bad. Every once and a while I will find a gem like this one...not set up, just watching them play, randomly taking pictures and hoping to get a great shot. I didn't even crop it, I just upped the contrast in Photoshop.
